Description:
Coarse plant. Leaves with wide, flat, ~glaucus blades, 5-6 mm wide. Inflor. a panicle. 4-5 fls/spikelet. Lemmas 7-nerved. Lower glume 3-nerved, distinct. Lemmas glabrous with short (<2mm) awn. Ligules obtuse, erose.
