Habitat: East-facing slope with chaparral of Quercus berberidifolia, Rhamnus ilicifolia, Heteromeles, Calochortus albus, Fraxinus dipet., Lotus scop., Lonicera subs., Artemisia calif., Salvia api., Galium ang., Yucca whip., Gastridium v., Silene lac., Eriogonum fas. fol., Cordylanthus rig., etc. Rocky loam soil, probably shallow, with 1-2 inches of leaf litter on surface.
Notes: Thin, weakly woody stems, ┬▒erect, 20-40 cm tall, plants apparently rhizomatous. Sharply minty scent to foliage. Lowest site where this species was seen on trail.
