Habitat: Slope & aspect 1-15°N,S; soil dark yellowish-brown; Pinaleno-Nolem Association; Toe slope bottoms and swales, gently sloping hills.
Associated Species: Creosote community; with Muhlenbergia porteri, Prosopis glandulosa, Rhus microphylla, Acacia constricta, Bouteloua curtipendula, Opuntia spp., Ferocactus wislizeni, Setaria spp., Floureensia cernua, Digitaria californica.
Description: Yellow flwrs; thick, strongly scented lvs; fruits globose, covered in trichomes and consisting of five one-seeded carpels.
