Habitat: South-facing rocky limestone slope; burned and killed forest.
Associated Species: Pseudotsuga menziesii forest with sprouting Quercus gambelii, Robinia neomexicana and Rosa woodsii. Also an incipient herbaceous layer of Corydalis aurea, Dactylis glomerata, Erodium cicutarium, Taraxacum officinale and Verbascum Thapsus.
Description: Locally several individuals; perennial herb with one to several spreading to erect basal branches to 5dm tall, flowers purple-pink.
