Habitat: Dry creekbed of canyon. Coarse, sandy soil, derived from grandiorite rock. Growing from base of rock. Slope ca. 10 degrees east-facing , partly shaded. Open Baccharis sergiloides and mixed scrub.
Notes: Shrub ca. 1 m tall. Corolla yellow with some orange, androcium yellow. Corolla orange-red in bud.
