Habitat: Pinyon-Juniper-Scrub Oak community.
Associated Species: Juglans major, Quercus turbinella, Nicotian glauca, Fraxinus velutina, Acacia greggii, Rhus aromatica var. trilobata, Pinus monophylla, Juniperus, Lotus rigidus, Brickellia, Eriogonum, Sphaeralcea, Mentzelia multiflora ssp. longiloba, Nolina microcarpa, Agave, Eremogone eastwoodiae var. adenophora.
Description: Purple aster, purple rays and yellow disks; leaves alternate; annual; only one.
