Locality: United States, New Mexico, Catron, Gila Wilderness Area, on plateau ridgetop divide between Little Bear Creek & West Fork drainage; 6300 ft.; Tertiary rhyolite, quartz latite, lava & ash flows.

Habitat: Great Basin Conifer Woodland Formation of Pinus edulis, Juniperus monosperma with scattered Quercus pungens var. vaseyana; in gravelly disturbed areas of grassy meadow with Pectis filipes, Bouteloua, curtipendula, Sanvitalia abertii, Chondrosum gracile, Zinnia grandiflora, Ipomoea costellata; in fruit, no flowers evident; a few plants locally.
