Habitat: Rocky summit ridge. In very loose scree/soil with little other vegetation. Subalpine and alpine ridge communities with shallow, mineral soils.
Description: Flowers dark purple. Plant low, mat-forming. Leaves waxy (Ericaceae-like). Full bloom. Fairly common in appropriate microsites.
