Locality: USA, Colorado, Gunnison, Gothic Mount Dorothy, Basin S of NW ridge out of Rustler Gulch. From ridge to tree island below grey slate rib with old mining cabin.

Habitat: Alpine- subalpine meadows and grasslands with much exposed scree and gravel on SW facing slopes. Just below ridge on vegetated slope. Diverse alpine-subalpine herb and shrub community.
Description: Plants 12-16" tall from thick, orange, fleshy taproot. Inflorescences diffuse. Common. Full bloom
