Locality: United States, Arkansas, Carroll, Ozark Highlands. Dissected Springfield Plateau-Elk River Hills/White River Hills Ecoregion boundary. USGS Beaver 7.5' Quad. Lake Leatherwood City Park, NE off of US Hwy 62, NNW of Eureka Springs. Along Beacham Trail, Fuller Trail, Overlook Trail, and in Hyde Hollow, on both sides of Lake Leatherwood.

Habitat: Cedar-encroached calcareous woodlands and outcrops often at glade margins, as well as cherty slopes of various aspects around lake.
Associated Species: Growing with Juniperus virginiana, Fraxinus quadrangulata, Ulmus alata, Quercus muehlenbergii, Amelanchier arborea, Frangula caroliniana, Danthonia spicata, Bromus pubescens, Eupatorium altissimum, Allium canadense lavendulare, Viola palmata, etc.
