Growing with Vaccinium pallidum, V. stamineum, Amelanchier arborea, Nyssa sylvatica, Rhododendron sp., Quercus spp., Liquidambar styraciflua & Pinus echinata.
Suckering shrub to about 2.5 m tall. Fresh fruit red.
