Locality: Mexico, Hidalgo, Ca. 37 (air) miles NNW of Pachuca on steep, rocky, calcareous N-E facing slopes above Lago de Metztitlan, ca. 8 mi NW of Metztitlan.

Habitat: Steep, rocky, calcareous N-E facing slopes.

Description: Shrubs to ca 13 ft tall with several woody branches above and barrel-like enlargements below to 15 in. dia. containing parenchymatous xylem. Stems and trunk shiny green with gray corky patches; petals white, sepals white to green. Population collection.
