Locality: Haiti, Sud, Haiti: Sud. Massif de la Hotte. Macaya Biosphere Reserve. Along high ridge trail from "saddle camp" on Morne Macaya to Pic Formon and Pic le Ciel. Elev. 1900-2219 m. Cloud/pine forest with Pinus occidentalis, Didymopanax, Weinmannia, Brunellia, Miconia, Cyathea, Alsophila, Myrsine, Lobelia, Arthrostylidium. Common climbing bamboo that cuts skin!
