Locality: Mexico, Veracruz, Veracruz (?), Mexico: Veracruz: Veracruz (?). Along highway between Veracruz and Cordoba, at Rancho 'La Esmaralda'. Flooded fields with Tabebuia rosea, Scheelea liebmannii, Mucuna urens. 90 m elev. Trunk 4 m tall, with dead leafbases and ca. 17 green leaves. Leaf 3.5 m long, glaucous below. Infruct. 1 m long, stipe of infruct. ca 20 cm; with spines up to 3 cm long.
Reproductive Condition: fruiting
