Habitat: Growing on rocky granite hillside
Associated Species: Malosma laurina, Erlogonum, Rhus Integrlfolla, Lotus, Yucca whlpplel, Opuntla prolifera, Ferocactus vlrldescens, and Dudleya.
Description: Plants usually single with flat leaves that are slightly glaucous. Tepals red- orange, filaments light yellow; pistils cream-yellow; anthers yellow. Inflor. bright red. Rosette leaves green to grey with red tinges or red dots.
