Habitat: Disturbed ground near house and birdfeeder; S-facing rocky slope in mesquite grassland.
Associated Species: Prosopis velutina, Eragrostis lehmanniana, Bouteloua gracilis, Fouquieria splendens, Mimosa dysocarpa, Eysenhardtia orthocarpa, Plumbago scandens, Ericameria laricifolia, Hilaria mutica, Tecoma stans, Kallstroemia grandiflora, Senna hirsuta var. glaberrima, Dasylirion wheeleri, Erythrina flabelliformis.
Description: Annual grass, to 25 cm, locally common; possible contaminant in commercial bird seed.
