Locality: United States, Florida, Alachua, United States: Florida: Alachua County. Kanapaha Botanical Gardens; The Palm Hammock. Growing in an open sunny area with other palms. Tree with a trunk ca. 4 meters tall, upper half covered by dead leaves. Leaves with petioles to ca. 1.4 meters long, blades dark green to ca. 1 meter long and ca. 1.5 meters wide; abaxial blade surface with a light brown hairy patch above the petiole.
