Locality: United States, Florida, Miami-Dade, United States: Florida: Miami-Dade County. Coconut Grove: The Kampong of the National Tropical Botanical Garden, 4013 S. Douglas Road. Cultivated on left (notheast) side of main driveway near large Adansonia digitata tree (plot B-3). Shrub 5 feet high. Fruit elongated and longitudinally ridged, with a thick orangish-yellow rind, very thick pith, and almost no pulp.
