Locality: United States, Florida, Alachua, United States: Florida: Alachua County. Kanapaha Botanical Gardens; The Rock Garden. Growing in a well drained area on a mound of soil. Many plants in this area. Collected specimen from a 4 foot tall plant that has started to die back. Leaves to ca. 1.1 meters long X ca. 15 cm wide, dark gray-green. Leaves mostly erect, some recurved. Newer leaves are glaucous. Dark brown to black spines on leaf edges appear to be on a platform the same color as the leaf. Terminal leaf spine dark and ca. 2.2 cm long. Lat. 29.61315°N Long. 082.40765°W Datum: WGS84. S21,T10S,R19E.
