Locality: United States, Florida, Alachua, United States: Florida: Alachua County. Kanapaha Botanical Gardens; The Palm Hammock. Open sunny area. Palm with a solitary trunk ca. 15 feet tall; ca. 14 green leaves with many dead leaves hanging down; trunk with lots of spines to ca. 9.5 cm long. Leaves ca. 2.7 meters long; leaflets more or less in planes giving a plumose look; rachis armed with long needle sharp spines. Inflorescence ca. 70 cm long with green fruit covered with brown hairs; peduncular bract covered with brown hairs, spines at the apex. Lat. 29.61283°N Long. 082.40794°W Datum: WGS84. S21,T10S,R19E.
