Associated Species: Quercus oblongifolia, Prosopis velutina, Fraxinus velutina, Baccharis sarothroides, Dasylirion wheeleri, Bouteloua curtipendula, Nolina microcarpa, Opuntia, Muhlenbergia emersleyi, Brickellia californica, Bothriochloa barbinodis, Guardiola platyphylla, Eysenhardtia orthocarpa, Muhlenbergia rigens.
Notes: Perennial forb, 1.4 m; rays and disk yellow; leaves toothed, simple to pinnately compound.
