Fen curves around east and south portions of the lake. Many "No Trespassing" signs posted. Mostly herbaceous Cyperaceae with shrubs on borders. Actively maintained by The Nature Conservancy. Fay Lake Road borders on east and south side fo fen. In Carex meadow into Carex and Typha stand north of Carex meadow. There are several dead trees (3) that were possible maple or birch. There are bare ground spots of mud where you sink to mid-calf and sparsely vegetated (moss, duckweed, and occasional Typha or Asteraceae, Salix). Nearby hummock of herbaceous/woody vegetation, Typha, and mud flat. 7m north of Typha edge.
Population - 1-2 individuals per 1m2 area, found on peat hummock with ferns, asters, Cornus, and Carex. In a shader region of fen flowering. White.
