Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Small opening in thick shrub encroached portion of prairie fen; pocket about 25m squared; shrubs include Toxicodendron vernix, Cornus foemina, Cornus sericea, Rubus strigosus, and Dasiphora fruticosa. Herbaceous later includes Pycnanthemum virginicum, Rudbeckia fulgida, Solidago altissima, S. rugosa, S. patula., S. ohioensis. Andropogon gerardii, Symphyotrichum novae-angliae, and Scirpus atrovirens.
