Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. In western portion of southeastern lobe of prairie fen; in small opening within shrub encroachment; about 20m northeast of woodland and southwest of stream; shrubs include Frangula alnus, Corylus, Cornus foemina, Viburnum nudum, Toxicodendron vernix; other species in area include Carex stricta, Apios americana, Eutrochium maculatum, Solidago rugosa, Symphyotrichum puniceum.
