Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Northern portion of prairie fen; grass and sedge meadow with Carex stricta, Agrostis gigantea, Eutrochium maculatum being dominant; located at northwestern portion of where two small, but not crossable stream meet; many snags in area, as well as dead shrubs; ground we but not inundated; quadrat about 10m south of small Quercus in poor health
