Mostly open prairie fen with strong prairie component. Bisected by Little Goose Creek. Some large swaths of Frangula alnus being treated by Michigan Nature Association. Weedy areas develop further downstream where fen narrows. Highly variable in regards to health of fen with some patches appearing pristine and other complet Phragmites australis stands. Private property is being heavily encroached by shrubs and turning the high quality fen into a patchwork of degraded/healthy fen. Weedy area adjacent to Little Goose Creek; about 2m to the east; dominated by Typha latifolia, Centaurea maculata, and Calystegia sepium. Phalaris arundinacea and Phragmites australis also common; Salix spp. To the south; ground moist but not inundated.
Flowers -NA.Well-represented in area; about 1-2 per sq. m; none with buds or flowers; some with axillary development; growing singly up to 1.3m tall with Phalaris and Calystegia sepium.
