Mostly open prairie fen with strong prairie component. Bisected by Little Goose Creek. Some large swaths of Frangula alnus being treated by Michigan Nature Association. Weedy areas develop further downstream where fen narrows. Highly variable in regards to health of fen with some patches appearing pristine and other complet Phragmites australis stands. Private property is being heavily encroached by shrubs and turning the high quality fen into a patchwork of degraded/healthy fen. Previously cleared of shrubs as evidenced by many stobs in area; now is a sedge meadow; Thelypteris palustris common; some Frangula alnus making a comeback in area; about 100m north of sweet clover field and large Quercus sp. Tree; ground moist but not inundated.
