Habitat: Prairie fen surrounded by small wood pockets and agricultural fields. Several vegetaion zones: sedge meadow, wooded, marl. Most previlent species include Cyperaceae, Dasiphora fruticosa, Cornus, Symplocarpus foetidus, and Typha. Some Phalaris arundinacea near woods on north section of fen. Many small creeks zig-zag fen (less than 1m wide). Woody cover includes Larix laricina, Betula pumila, other birches, and Toxicodendron vernix. In western portion of prairie fen, 150m east of western border, 5m east of marl seep, 250m south of northern border. Larix laricina and Toxicodendron vernix area east of marl seep. Area dominated by Dasiphora fruticosa, Pycnanthemum virginianum, Cyperaceae, Asteraceae, and saplings under 2m of L. laricina, T. vernix, Betula pumila, and Cornus. Ground hummocky and wet to moist.
Description: Population - Small saplings in area. Seen amongst Toxicodendron vernix, Larix laricina, Dasiphora fruticosa, and Betula pumila. On moist soil. 1-2 small saplings in 5m2 area.
