Elevation: 315 meters (1033ft)
Habitat: Fen on county and private land and managed by The Nature Conservancy. Grand River travels through center of fen (4m wide). Near river area dominated by Cyperaceae, Typha, and Dasiphora fruticosa; shrubs of Rubus and Cornus near woodland upland edges. In north-central portion of prairie fen on Jackson County property, 25m south of northern border, 50m north of Grand River, 200m east of western border/bridge. Sedge meadow dominated by Carex, Poaceae, Asteraceae, Dasiphora fruticosa, and Pycnanthemum virginianum. Some invasion by Lythrum salicaria. Shrubs under 2m every 1-4m2, mostly Cornus but some Toxicodendron vernix. Ground hummocky and wet.
Description: Population - Common, abundant, a few flowering near forest, 1.7m tall.
