Prairie fen mostly round in shape with large Typha pond/stream in center. Surrounded by wooded upland. Encroachment by shrubs (Cornus, Spiraea alba, Toxicodendron vernix), especially from the north. There are large patches of Typha, Lythrum salicaria, and Phalaris arundinacaea in the northeast. The northwest has amazingly low number of invasives seen. No signs of management but many tracks of trucks or ATVs. Also, many invasives (Phalaris arundinacea and Lythrum salicaria) along creek. Some Frangula alnus in the southwest. In northern portion of prairie fen, 100m south of Buss Road, 2m east of wooded patch, next to a shrubby yellow birch tree with strange nublets on the end of the branches. In sedge meadow dominated by Carex and Asteraceae with a medium density of shrubs (Cornus, Corylus americana, Toxicodendron vernix). Ground hummocky and moist.
Population - Common in area. Seen moist soil with Asteraceae and Carex. Some with flowers.
