Large north-south fen; multiple ownser; many arms; large expanses of Carex stricta. Fen elongated and amoeboid with many small armas and large amounts of edge. Oak uplands often inserted intro prairie fen as peninsulas. Oftern large amounts of open water due to beaver flooding. Asjacent to railroad that runs the entire length of the fen. Carex lasiocarpa dominated flat on margin of south arm of lake. Typha latifolia, Dasiphora fruticosa, Eleocharis elliptica, and Carex sterilis. Other common species include Lycopus uniflorus, Solidago ohioensis, Lobelia kalmii, Liatris spicata, and Toxicodendron vernix. Ground very moist; pooling in footsteps.
