Fen curves around east and south portions of the lake. Many "No Trespassing" signs posted. Mostly herbaceous Cyperaceae with shrubs on borders. Actively maintained by The Nature Conservancy. Fay Lake Road borders on east and south side fo fen. 90m south from lake, 80m north from line-grove of oak trees near the access road. Shrub zone, littered with Toxicodendron vernix saplings and shrubs. Almost as abundant as Cornus. Underneath shrubs is Carex, Thalictrum dasycarpum, and Asteraceae. Ground hummocky (25cm tall tussocks) and moist.
Population - In amongst taller vegetation. Somewhat common in area. Lycopus uniflorus present outside of quadrat. 1-2 per 1m2 for 30m2.
