Associates included Cyperus rotundus, Bulbostylis barbata, Cassia obtusifolia, Croton glandulosus, Desmodium tortuosum, and Mollugo verticillata.
Spikes sublustrous, golden brown and green, the latter color due to the scales' keels. Herbage generally light green to yellow-green. Bases thickish, without rhizomes.
