Locality: USA, California, San Francisco, Locally common on open sandy slope between conifer forest and Lobos Creek, about 1/2 mi. in- land from Bakers Beach, San Francisco, S. F. Co., Calif.
Associated Species: Mesembryanthemum, Rhus (low-growing poison-oak), Eschscholzia, Avena, Bromus, Cardionema, and Hygochoeris.
Description: Heads erect with yellow florets. Pappus scales 5, a shining silvery white; achenes brown. Stems fistulous, with white la- tex, green to dull purple. Many lvs. Wilted.
