Locality: United States, Colorado, Mesa, Gateway Palisade Natural Area N of Gateway btwn. CO hwy 141 (West Creek) & Dolores R., end of two track road leading to informal campsite on open bench & flats near mouth of minor drainage ca. 1mi. E of jct. w/ Mesa Co. road 4.2 on W side of the Palisade.

Elevation: 1454 meters Verbatim Elevation: 4770 ft
Habitat: Bordering drainage on gently sloping floodplain with scattered Sapina osteosperma and Astragalus nuttalliana, Atriplex canescens, Artemisisa tridentata spp. parishii, Stanleya pinnata, Gutierrezia microcephala; uncommon locally. On gravel bar in middle of drainage; Permian Cutler Form.
Reproductive Condition: Flr & Frt
Notes: herbaceous stems dense, ascending to erect from heavy woody base; flowers golden yellow. NAD 27. 7.5' Gateway quad.
