Habitat: On flats near timberline in mesic meadow above stream w/ lush high subalpine vegetation including Veronica nutans, Epilobium anagallidifolium, Potentilla diversifolia, Pedicularis parryi, Deschampsia cespitosa . . .; relatively common. Precambrian gneiss.
Reproductive Condition: Flr
Notes: Rays violet purple, discs yellow. 7.5' Loveland Pass.
