Habitat: In somewhat weedy vegetation in tight soils in highly impacted area in traps around windmill and old acequias on valley flat, on otherwise rolling landscape underlain by tuffaceous sandstone and conglomerate of the Tascotal Formation. Associates included Amaranthus palmeri, Bouteloua curtipendula, Buddleja marrubiifolia, Chloris virgata, Digitaria californica, Ipomoea hederacea, Panicum hirticaule, P. obtusum, Pappophorum vaginatum, Prosopis glandulosa, Sorghum halepense, Sporobolus cryptandrus, Tidestroemia lanuginosa, Verbesina encelioides.
Reproductive Condition: flowering=early
