Locality: United States, TEXAS, Presidio, Just N of pens at ranch house, in highly-impacted but currently-deferred part of cattle pasture near windmill and water tank, ca. 0.8-0.9 airmiles NNW of jct. US Rt. 67 and US Rt. 90 in downtown Marfa. SE part of Mimms Ranch. Marfa Quadrangle. Elev. 4720-4730 ft.

Habitat: In grassland in somewhat gravelly light brown silty soil on slope on gently rolling landscape underlain by a mix of Perdiz Conglomerate (a fanglomerate of variable composition) and Quaternary alluvium. Associates included Aristida adscencionis, Asclepias brachystephana, Berlandiera lyrata, Bouteloua barbata, Buddleja scordioides, Chamaesyce lata, Clematis drummondii, Condalia ericoides, Croton pottsii, Ephedra trifurca, Evolvulus nuttallianus, Kallstroemia parviflora, Koeberlinia spinosa, Polygala lindheimeri, Scleropogon brevifolius, Talinum aurantiacum, Tetraclea coulteri, Zinnia grandiflora. Occasional. Stems short, usually <3 dm tall; corollas light to dark purple.
Reproductive Condition: flowering=early
