Habitat: Full sun. On slopes of wide canyon trending N-S. Even-grained, Ã'composted graniteÃ" red substrate. Associates include Viguiera stenoloba, Tecoma stans, Opuntia imbricata, O. englemannii, Celtis pallida, Mimosa, Acacia greggii, Justicia, and Heteropogon. Erect perennial 40-60 cm tall, to 1 m wide. Flowers pink with fuchsia veins. Open 0900 hrs.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
