In open shrubland on somewhat xeric knoll of white claystone or sandstone of the Fant Tuff Member of the Catahoula and Frio Formations (undivided). Shrubland dominated at 2 m by Gochnatia hypoleuca and at 1 m by Leucophyllum frutescens. Other associates included Acacia berlandieri, A. rigidula, Acourtia runcinata, Aloysia macrostachya, Aspicarpa hyssopifolia, Croton incanus, Eysenhardtia texana, Guaiacum angustifolium, Hedeoma sp., Juniperus 28809, Lantana urticoides, Oxalis dichondrifolia, Passiflora tenuiloba, Pinaropappus roseus, Polygala sp., Rhus virens, Sideroxylon celastrinum, Sophora secundiflora, Tetraneuris scaposa, Thamnosma texanum, Thymophylla pentachaeta, Verbena canescens, Yucca treculeana, Zexmenia brevifolia.
