Habitat: Herbaceous vegetation on fine sand of Quaternary eolian deposit, on right-of-way of highway across gently undulating upland. Vegetation dominated by Heterotheca subaxillaris, Eriogonum multiflorum, Aristida sp. Other associates included Acalypha radians, Chamaecrista sp., Chloris cucullata, Croton capitatus, C. glandulosus, Galactia canescens, Monarda fruticulosa, Pennisetum ciliare (rare at present), Prosopis glandulosa, Rhynchosia americana, Scutellaria drummondii, Sida lindheimeri, Stylosanthes biflora. Common.
Reproductive Condition: fruiting=late
