Habitat: In sedge-dominated wetland on poorly drained very strongly acid silt loam Alfisols (Waller Series), in large opening in loblolly pine - hardwood forest on flat landscape underlain by Lissie Formation. Community dominated by Carex glaucescens and Saccharum giganteum. Other associates include Amsonia illustris, Campsis radicans, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Cuphea sp., Dichanthelium sp., Diodia virginiana, Diospyros virginiana, Gratiola virginiana, Hydrolea ovata, Juncus repens, Justicia lanceolata, Liquidambar styraciflua, Ludwigia hirtella, Lycopus rubellus, Mikania scandens, Nyssa sylvatica, Panicum rigidulum, Paspalum dilatatum, Polygonum hydropiperoides, Proserpinaca palustris, Rhynchospora corniculata, Steinchisma hians, Triadica sebifera. Ocassional.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
