Habitat: Common in recently shredded mesquite-pricklypear vegetation in cattle pasture on somewhat sandy clay on +/- level upland. Associates include Acleisanthes longiflora, Aloysia gratissima, Berberis trifoliolata, Bouteloua curtipendula, B. trifida, Buchloe dactyloides, Chloris verticillata, Croton humilis, Echinocactus texensis, Glandularia bipinnatifida, Justicia pilosella, Nyctaginea capitata, Opuntia lindheimeri, Prosopis glandulosa, Sporobolus cryptandrus, Tidestromia lanuginosa, Tridens albescens, Yucca reverchonii, Ziziphus obtusifolius.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
