Habitat: Larrea-dominated bajadas. Pale soil covered w. small flat stones. Associates include Fouquieria, Jatropha, and Melampodium. Near prostrate annual w. white latex. Some individuals in fulls sun are reddish. Appendages of bracts white.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
