Habitat: Loose red sandy soil and fine-grained gravel. Arroyo scrub of Celtis pallida, Viguiera steno., Acacia greggii, A. neovern., Prosopis glandulosa, Yucca, Dasylirion, Aloysia, Anisacanthus puberulus, Brickellia, and Opuntia. Growing w. C. arizonica.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
