Habitat: Common in dried cracking clay exposed along margin of receding stock tank, in pasture on convex ridgetop underlain by Goodland Limestone. Associates include Aster subulatus, Bergia texana, Iva annua, Leucospora multifida, Xanthium strumarium.
Reproductive Condition: flowering=early
