Habitat: Locally frequent in herbaceous vegetation on eroding sandy clay slopes along borrow pit in landscape otherwise covered with Havard oak shinneries on fine sand of Holocene sand sheet. Associates include Ambrosia psilostachya, Aristida sp., Buchloe dactyloides, Hoffmannseggia glauca, Panicum obtusum, palafoxia rosea, Prosopis glandulosa.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
