Habitat: Common in open grassland on shallow stony clay soils on slightly convex upland underlain by Segovia Member of the Edwards Limestone. Associates include Aristida sp., Buchloe dactyloides, Croton sp., Digitaria californica, Glandularia bipinnatifida, Hilaria belangeri, H. mutica, Hymenoxys odorata, Lygodesmia texana, Marrubium vulgare, Tiquilia canescens, small Prosopis glandulosa.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
