Locality: United States, Texas, Hudspeth, N end of Quitman Mts., 8 miles W of Sierra Blanca.
Habitat: Steep rocky (igneous) slopes. Abundant in shaded canyon. Shrub 2-3 m high; stems up to 5 cm diameter at base. Flowers green, suffused with dull brownish purple in throat.
Reproductive Condition: flowering=early
