Locality: United States, Texas, Hartley, N side of Rita Blanca Lake, 100-500 ft. NW of boat ramp road leading S from F. M. 281 ca. 0.6 mi. SE of Lake Drive, S side of Dalhart. Dalhart West Quadrangle. Elev. ca. 3920 ft.
Habitat: Rays white, disk yellow. Occasional in shallow sandy to clayey soil over caliche (Ogalalla formation), in grassland on unshaded outcrop on top of bluff. Associates include Bouteloua gracilis, Melampodium leucanthum, Oenothera brachycarpa, Dalea purpurea, D. jamesii, Hymenoxys acaulis var. acaulis, H. scaposa var. glabra, Eriogonum lachnogynum, Lesquerella ovalifolia, Psilostrophe villosa, Calylophus hartwegii, Echinacea angustifolia, Paronychia jamesii, P. sessilifolia, Penstemon fendleri, P. albidus.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
